# AI Receptionist by Tactly > The AI receptionist that never misses a call. Tactly is an AI receptionist for small businesses, made by 1Digital Agency. It answers a business's phone calls in the business's name, 24 hours a day, in English, Spanish or both. It books appointments into the business's calendar, transfers live calls to the main line or up to 5 named numbers (15 on Growth), answers questions only from the owner's notes, takes messages, and emails a summary and full transcript of every call. ## Key facts - Answer modes: every call, only after hours, only calls nobody picks up (the business's phone rings first for 5 to 60 seconds), or missed calls plus after hours. - A local phone number is included. A business can keep its existing number and forward unanswered calls to the Tactly number. - Booking: offers real open times from the business's booking calendar, only on days the business is open, and confirms only once the calendar accepts. If the caller changes their mind on the same call, it books the new time and then cancels the one it booked earlier in that call. Bookings from earlier calls are cancelled from the link in the caller's confirmation email, never by voice. - Greeting menu (optional, off by default): callers hear a short menu in the receptionist's voice and press 1 for the receptionist or 2 to leave a voicemail of up to 3 minutes. The owner can edit the wording. Each voicemail is emailed to the owner with the recording and a transcript, and it is not billed as AI minutes. - Transfers: by default during business hours (the owner can also pick a person to take transfers after hours), to the main number or to one of the named numbers on the plan (up to 5 on Starter and Pro and up to 15 on Growth; for example Sales, Service or Front Desk), each with a note on when to use it. A transfer number can include an extension: the receptionist dials the main line, then the extension. - Call screening (optional, off by default): before putting a caller through, Tactly asks them to hold a moment while it checks, privately rings the person they asked for and says who is calling and why. If that person asks a question first, Tactly asks the caller and comes back to them. That person chooses: put them through, take a message, or not interested, and a pass is declined politely. The caller hears ordinary ringing while Tactly checks. If nobody answers or voicemail picks up, Tactly takes a message. It works on real phone calls and needs a direct line or a cell phone; it cannot get past an extension or a phone menu. It is included on every plan with no add-on; the private check is part of the call and counts toward its minutes. A playable simulation is on /features/call-screening. - Phone lines: One plan covers all of your phone lines. Each plan includes one number, and you forward your other existing lines to it, so every line is answered by the same receptionist and draws on the same minutes. There is no charge per line. - Multiple locations: Each location gets its own receptionist, with its own hours, greeting and transfer numbers, and its own plan. Every additional location on the same account gets 20% off its plan price. You can say how many locations you have when you sign up: the first is checked out, and your dashboard then walks you through adding each of the others, which start on their plan when you add them, and you can add more later from your dashboard, up to 25 in all. - Answers only from the business's knowledge base and notes. It never invents prices, availability or policies; when unsure it takes a message. - Languages: English, Spanish, or bilingual (greets in English, offers Spanish, switches when the caller does). Summaries arrive in English. - Calendars: books into the calendar built into the Tactly dashboard, and can check a connected Google Calendar, Apple iCloud, Fastmail or Yahoo calendar for busy times and add each booking to it. Other calendars, such as Outlook, can receive bookings through Zapier. - Integrations: every finished call can be sent to Zapier or any https webhook, signed with a Tactly-Signature header. The Tactly API (https://app.tactly.ai/api/tactly/v1) lists calls and manages webhook subscriptions; any active or trialing account can create a key. - Text alerts (optional, free): after each answered call the owner can get a short text with the caller, the outcome, a one-line summary and a link to the transcript. It is opt-in, the mobile is verified with a code, and replying STOP turns it off. - Caller texting (coming soon, optional, US numbers, no extra fee): during a call Tactly can offer to text the caller a booking confirmation, the business address or details they asked for, plus one link the owner chose. It asks first, texts only the number the caller is calling from, sends at most two texts a call, and every text names the business and says to reply STOP to opt out. Carriers require a one-time business registration first, which 1Digital files from the details the owner enters in the dashboard; carriers usually approve it within a few business days. - Callers are told it is a virtual assistant and the call may be recorded. Anyone describing an emergency is told to hang up and call 911. - Calls screened as spam are never billed, at any length, and neither is any call under 15 seconds. Every feature is on every plan; plans differ in minutes, per-minute rate and named transfer numbers. Cancel any time. ## Plans - Starter: $49 a month, 100 minutes included, $0.35 per extra minute, up to 5 named transfer numbers. For a solo owner who mostly needs the missed calls covered. - Pro: $99 a month, 250 minutes included, $0.29 per extra minute, up to 5 named transfer numbers. For a busy shop that wants nights, weekends and lunch rushes handled. - Growth: $199 a month, 600 minutes included, $0.25 per extra minute, up to 15 named transfer numbers. For a team that sends a large share of its calls to the receptionist. - 7-day free trial: 30 AI-answered minutes included. Card on file at checkout, and billing starts on day 8 unless you cancel, or sooner if you use all 30 minutes (we email you first). One trial per account, for your first location. Additional locations are billed from the day you add them. - Extra charges outside the plan. A phone number outside the US (Mexico, Spain or Latin America) is $10 a month on top of your plan and takes calls only; it cannot send texts. It takes the place of the included US number rather than adding a second one, and ordering it needs your business documents. Your US local number, and texting on it, are included in every plan with no extra fee. - [Pricing](https://tactly.ai/pricing) ## Main pages - [Home](https://tactly.ai/) - [How it works](https://tactly.ai/how-it-works) - [Features](https://tactly.ai/features) - [Multiple locations: one receptionist per store, office or branch](https://tactly.ai/features/multi-location) - [Calendar: connect Google, iCloud, Fastmail or Yahoo, or use the built-in calendar](https://tactly.ai/features/calendar) - [Missed call follow-up](https://tactly.ai/features/missed-call-follow-up): after a call Tactly could not finish, adds the call to a call-back list with a suggested opening line, and emails a recap with the booking link to callers who gave an email while booking (approved by the owner first by default); email only, no texts; included with every Tactly plan, each email uses a few AI credits from the existing allowance - [Integrations and API: calendars, Zapier, signed webhooks, the Tactly API](https://tactly.ai/integrations) - [Industries](https://tactly.ai/industries): how Tactly works in 148 industries - [Compare](https://tactly.ai/compare): Tactly against voicemail, answering services and hiring - [Sample calls](https://tactly.ai/sample-calls): example calls to listen to or download as MP3 - [Blog](https://tactly.ai/blog) - [About](https://tactly.ai/about) - [Referral program](https://tactly.ai/referral): customers earn a free month for each business they refer that becomes a paying customer - [Partner program](https://tactly.ai/partner): non-customers earn 10% of a referred business's first year, paid through Stripe - [Get started](https://tactly.ai/start) - [Support](https://tactly.ai/support): customers log in to the dashboard to chat or send a ticket; setup guides, setup videos, support questions, hello@tactly.ai - [En español](https://tactly.ai/es): the whole site in Spanish, every page at the same path under /es ## Features - [Appointment booking](https://tactly.ai/features/appointment-booking): Tactly checks your calendar while the caller waits, offers real open times, and books the one they pick.
