Call transfer

Some calls need you. Tactly knows when to hand them over.

Tactly takes the routine questions off your plate. When a caller asks for a person during your hours, it puts them straight through to you.

  • TactlyThanks for calling Copperline Signs. This is the virtual assistant, and this call may be recorded. How can I help?
  • CallerHi, it's Marcus. I'm picking up a banner today and need to change the date on it.
  • TactlyThat sounds like one for the team. Would you like me to connect you now?
  • CallerYes please.
  • TactlyConnecting you to the shop now, Marcus. One moment.
  • Transferred to the shop line

How does call transfer work?

Tactly transfers calls live. During the business hours you set, if a caller asks to talk to a person, Tactly tells them it is connecting them and passes the call to the single number you picked, such as your cell or front desk. Outside your hours it books a time or takes a message instead, and every transfer is noted in that call's emailed summary.

You pick one number

Your cell, the shop line, the office manager. Set it in your settings and change it whenever you like.

Transfers follow your hours

By default Tactly only puts calls through while you are open, read in your own time zone, so nobody is rung at 11 at night.

Routine questions stay with Tactly

Hours, directions, services and the prices you chose to share are answered from your notes. You only pick up the calls that need you.

Safety comes before a transfer

A caller describing an emergency is told to hang up and call 911 first. That instruction never waits for a handoff.

Straight talk

What it will not do.

Knowing the limits is how you set it up well.

  • There is one transfer number. It does not route different callers to different people.
  • Outside your hours it does not put calls through unless you change that setting.
  • It does not place calls of its own or call anyone back.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can Tactly transfer a caller to a real person?

Yes. During your business hours, when a caller asks for someone, Tactly says it is connecting them and transfers the call to the number you chose.

Can I send different calls to different people?

Not today. Transfers go to one number. Many owners pick a front desk line that can then pass the caller along.

What does a caller hear if they ask for a person at night?

Tactly explains the team is away, then offers to book a time on your calendar or take a message for the morning.

Stop sending callers to voicemail.

Set up your receptionist, make a free test call from your own phone, and switch it on when it sounds right.
